Accessing Voice & Video Settings
To configure your microphone in Discord:
- Open Discord (desktop app or browser)
- Click the gear icon (User Settings) next to your username
- In the left sidebar, click Voice & Video
- You'll see all audio settings here
Selecting Your Microphone
To choose the right microphone device:
- In Voice & Video settings, find Input Device
- Click the dropdown menu
- Select your preferred microphone
- "Default" uses your system's default microphone
- External mics show their product name
Testing Your Microphone
Discord provides a built-in mic test:
- In Voice & Video settings, find Mic Test
- Click Let's Check
- Speak into your microphone
- Discord will play back your voice
- Listen for clarity and volume
- Click Stop Testing when done
Adjusting Input Volume

Push to Talk (Manual):

- Press the key you want to use (e.g., V, Caps Lock)
- Hold this key when you want to speak
- Useful in noisy environments

Discord offers several audio enhancements:
- Echo Cancellation: Removes echo from your audio (recommended: ON)

Common Issues and Solutions
Others can't hear you:
- Check if you're muted (red microphone icon)
